Welcome to the Cathedral's music page. At present, the music in the Cathedral is divided between Diocesan and Parish life.

The Cathedral Parish currently has one choir with circa twenty voices and a rota of cantors that lead the singing of the psalms and other responses. The repetoire of the choir is vast, with music ranging from the 15th century to music that is being composed today.  The choir sings in all deanery and parish services, weddings, funerals and other events but ultimately their role is to serve the liturgy through song, enhancing people's faith and worship.

There is a rehearsal ten minutes before each Mass for people to become more familiar with the responses in Mass.

If anyone is interested in joining in with the music at the Cathedral, be it through singing or playing an instrument, then please come along to rehearsals on Tuesdays at 6:30 in the Cathedral library (Clergy House), or speak to Andrew after the weekend Masses.
